Treasures from the Past!

I have TONS from my mother's family!
A rocking chair it was her father's Mother, Rosebud. She and her sister Ruth married brothers Sam and Charles. Uncle Charles and Aunt Ruth never had children and my mother loved them as second grandparents.

and she made this trivet (standing in the back crocheted with green base) I wouldn't dare use it on a table and get it dirty!!

She and her sister made these pot holders too!

They hang in the kitchen but are not used either. hehe
The last piece my grandmother made for me.

She wove this piece and then made it in to a tray (she saw it on Martha Stewart) Silly Grandma she thought I wouldn't want it!! I'm a softy and don't care if it looks right with my decor, it is in my living room and I am so thrilled I have something my grandmother wanted to make for me!
I actually could do a month of posts of my dear families' treasures but these will do for now!

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday to all in blogland!!

I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all who left such sweet wishes on my dear sweet Judy's passing!

I have had such a huge week and didn't even think much about slowing down my bolgging.
I have 3 dogs and have been keeping another since Monday and added 2 more on Friday!
My Mother turned 60 on Thursday and we have been parting ever since!
I didn't sleep a couple of nights because of poison Ivy I somehow have acquired!
I didn't sleep one night because my little dog hates thunderstorms and danced on my head for a few hours! (she now has medication for stopping this!!!)
Oh and my shoulder is not better and that's just annoying me now!
And I really over did it!!!!

So with a week of work and extra dogs until Saturday (one goes home today) I will be taking teh week off! I'll try to visit I hate not visiting as blogland is my Happy Place! But there is a pending funeral and tons to do (my house will never be clean again!!) SO I'm on vacation!! lol

We Love you Judy!

This post is in honor of our dear sweet Judy!

I have known her my entire life her son Eric is only a few months older than me. My mother counts her as one of her oldest friends. Judy was diagnosed with Breast Cancer almost 10 years ago. She has gone through all you can with cancer and late Friday July 24th she let go.
We are just not sure what we are going to do without this sweet and strong lady. She had a wonderful life and a great family so I know she was ok. Her faith in God got her through a lot and I am comforted that she will be with God, not in pain and there for us all.
We were so blessed to have had her here and we will of course get on. with a heavy heart for a while!
We love you Judy!

It was $5 but I've seen them for so much more and it is in perfect shape!
I'm going to take a break for a few weeks and try to come up with some new twists to Pink Saturday!

HI!

Hi, Just a quick note!
I have not fallen off the face of the earth. I do apologise for no Artist of the week today. I really just forgot. I have pics and everything I just didn't get it put together. I'm having trouble with my left shoulder and the less time I spend typing the better it feels. I'm trying to visit but I have to stop when my shoulder gets tired. NOW I've been called into work and don't even get to go out to dinner tonight!!! So I'll be stopping by as can in the evenings after work. Sorry again I really hate missing even one post all my lovely friends leave (part OCD part Guilt) I really wish I could be more happy go lucky. But Blogland is my Happy Place to go so I love coming here every day!
